Never judge a book by its cover

Never judge a book by its cover...
This idiom is very suitable to use for Susan Boyle, a 48 years old Scottish singer who came to international public attention in 2009 after she apperared as a contestant on Britain's Got Talent. Susan became known when she sang "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Miserables in the competition's first round. However, in the final third series of the show, Boyle finished second place, behind dance troupe Diversity.

When she appeared on the Britain's Got Talent stage, the audience and the judges appeared apprehensive and judgmental of her unpolished appearance. When Boyle first appeared on Britain's Got Talent, she said that she aspired to become a musical theatre singer "as successful as" Elaine Paige. Almost all the audience laugh at her. However, upon finishing her song, she received a standing ovation from the live audience and unanimous praise from the judges.

"I know what they were thinking, but why should it matter as long as I can sing? It's not a beauty contest." by Susan Boyle. Yes, it's not a beauty contest but almost all person judge a person just by their appearance.

Below is the videa clip during her first audition in the Britain's Got Talent. It's a very touching video clip. My tears drop after finished watch it.

Lost and Found

Deng... deng... deng deng...
Here it is my 21st b'day present from my mum...
The necklace is from my mum... but the pendant not...
Orginal one should be a "key" but I had replaced it with an "pink crystal apple"...

Thanks God...
Thanks the girl in the centre keep it for me...
Yesterday whole night not in the mood because of this and can't sleep tight as well...
Actually it's not a very serious matter. Just when I think my mum's expression when she knew about it, I can't stop to scold myself...

I'm an idiot!!!

Sorry, mum...
I maybe will lost the 21st b'day gift from you- a necklace...
I'm an idiot...
Why am I so careless?
Why am I a forgetful person?
Why I just realize it had gone when the centre was already closed?
Why I'm late?
I keep asking myself the same questions...
Hope tomorrow when the centre open I still can get back the necklace...
I really hope that it will happen...
God, please bless me!!!

Unplaned blood donation...

At last it's weekend...
But today still have to wake up early as need to back office to take care of my little "boy"... Jasco HPLC... Actually can't considered as earlier as i wake up at 10am in the end... Haha...
Not feel like going back office during weekend... huhh...
Around 12:10 reached office... then turned off the HPLC... then plan what i'm going to do next...
As it's very meaningless if I just back home like that... just turn off a machine!!!
"At least, I must do something meaningful! Or something that I'm willing to do." I told myself.
Take lunch? shopping? watch movie? anything else?

Think... think... think...
In the end two words flew on my mind... "blood donation"...
Then I took out the donation card from my wallet.
"Ooopss... my last donation was done on 26 July 08... it's had been 10 months!!!"
So... I had decided - today, I will go for blood donation!!!
Okay, my destination - Bloodbank @ HSA (near Outram Park MRT)
Around 12:40 reach my destination... fill in the declaration form, register and wait...

Mm... how to describe my feeling?
Excited? scared? nervous?
It's 70% excited + 30% nervous...
Excited is because i'm going to do something meaningful...
Nervous is becuase I almost forget the feel when the needle was inserted into the skin of my arm and saw the blood flow out from my body...

After wait for 20 minutes, the nurse start to insert the needle into my skin after injecting the narcotic... then i just saw blood flow continuously to the bag!!!!
Then the only thing I can do is just squeeze the "heart" on my hand every 10 seconds to improve the flowing of the blood...
After 10 minutes, it's done!! It's just simple like that... Haha...
My arm with "smiley face" bandage after the blood donation.
Refreshment after the hard work... A cup of Milo and Muffin...

Bruise...

Award chart for the regular donor... My target... Diamond Award... Haha...
Give blood... give life...
Bloodbank, see you again after 3 months!!!

Melody... Love Story...

Melody... Rhythm... is very amazing and incredible...
Different person will have different impression on the same rhythm or melody...
Sad melody will make you feel depress.... while happy melody will lead you to happy wonderland...

Recently I fall in love to a song called "Love Story"!!! This is after I listened to the performance by Jon Schmidt in YouTube which was dedicated to his 7 years old daughter, Sarah.

He had transposed the song into a piano instrumental and recorded it with a cellist (Steven Sharp Nelson). The middle of the song has an incorporation of Viva La Vida (Coldplay) instrumental.

I prefer the way he composed the song more than the original "Love Story"!!! Here it is... when Love Story by Taylor Swift meets Viva La Vida (Coldplay) - piano cello by Jon Schmidt!!! Enjoy it... I'm sure you will fall in love with it as well!!!
